Darien Library KidLib Camp

Darien Library's KidLib Camp is an unconference for librarians working with children or who are interested in children's services. If you aren't familiar with the way unconferences work, the idea is for librarians to get together in a semi-informal atmosphere to talk about topics of interest. In our case, when you sign up we ask you to share the topics you are interested in sharing your knowledge of, learning more about or just brainstorming new ideas. Everyone participates in the discussions and shares their work, skills, ideas through actively participating during the day (unlike more traditional conferences). The program sessions for KidLib Camp 2011 will be decided on the day of the event by those in attendance, but topics might include eBooks, Digital Storytelling, Podcasting, Social Networking, Book Trailers and upcoming technology trends like Interactive Picture Book Apps. The Schedule (lunch will be provided)
Parking for the event will be off-site at 35 Leroy Avenue, Darien (the location of the former Darien Library). This will ensure that our members’ access to the Library is not disrupted that day. Darien Library has provided complimentary morning and afternoon shuttle service for attendees beginning at 8:30am. The Library is also accessible by Metro-North and is a 10-15 minute walk from the Darien Train station.
WiFi is strong and outlets are plenty so bring your gadgets & gizmos to use and demo for others!
